Destination Country: Thailand (Project Location: Offshore Myanmar)
This project serves as a core offshore oil and gas development EPCI (Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Installation) turnkey project invested in by PTT (Thailand's national oil company). Located in the offshore waters of Myanmar, 300 kilometers south of Yangon at an operating water depth of 150 meters, the total investment exceeds USD 367 million. The scope of work encompasses the end-to-end design, fabrication, offshore lifting and installation of four offshore wellhead platforms, as well as the laying of four long-distance subsea oil and gas transmission pipelines.
The project established stringent European standard thresholds for low-temperature toughness, through-thickness properties (Z-direction resistance to lamellar tearing), and marine corrosion resistance. Leveraging its comprehensive R&D and mass-production capabilities in low-temperature marine steel, Xiangtan became the sole structural steel supplier for the project. Xiangtan stably delivered 2.6 tonnes of customized specialty structural steel, all of which passed authoritative third-party inspections on the first attempt. This ensured the platforms and subsea pipelines were completed and commissioned on schedule, making it a benchmark flagship project for Xiangtan's expansion in the Southeast Asian offshore oil and gas market.
